Problem
In order to increase the safety of patients undergoing surgical procedures, the MIAS Foundation commissioned D/Vision Lab to develop software that applies artificial intelligence technologies to medical images for a better and more immediate understanding of the patient’s anatomy. In this way, MIAS Foundation aims to provide surgeons of the near future with Virtual Clone, an enhanced software for surgical planning and early tumor diagnosis.
Solution
Virtual Clone (VIC) is a web-based software available to doctors capable of automatically annotating abdominal structures from CT images and reconstructing their 3D anatomy, in order to facilitate more effective surgical planning. The three-dimensionality of the image allows, in fact, a more immediate understanding of the anatomical relationships and any anomalies.
