Problem

Vection Italia needed a tool for the automatic generation of 3D models of abdominal organs starting from CT images that could be used in the “training” field with immersive reality devices.

Solution

A dedicated workflow has been implemented within our DICOM Vision product for the automatic generation of 3D models from DICOM images to be used within immersive reality platforms (e.g. Hololens).

Automatic segmentation for segmentation was integrated using open-source AI algorithms (e.g. total segmentator) and the generation and visualization of 3D models was integrated with algorithms based on the VTK library.
